Synopsis
1964, Municipal Library of Alcamo, Sicily. Franca reads in an ancient book the memory of a trial that took place in that same city in 1243. The rich merchant Goffredo is accused of raping Benvenuto, a girl of humble status. With an unprecedented sentence for the time he is found guilty, thanks to a legislation desired by Frederick II whose revolutionary scope will remain unmatched for eight centuries, until the present day. The young Franca, a figure inspired by the character of Franca Viola, can now make this memory her own.

Production notes
The puppet animation scenes tell contemporary events while the cut-out ones, a technique that combines illustration on paper and digital animation, show events from the medieval era. Filming will take place from July to November 2024 and we expect to release by the end of 2024.
